About Debora de Block, PhD (Founder)

From childhood I have a great passion for nature. I have been active at the World Wildlife Fund from a young age, first as a youth member and later as a volunteer. It was therefore no surprise that I studied Forest and Nature Management (BSc) and then International Land and Water Management (MSc). During my studies I was involved in the protection of sea turtles in Greece. Also, I worked with IUCN on the conservation of mangrove forests in Indonesia. In May 2018 I completed my doctoral research (PhD) at Wageningen University, the Netherlands. I studied projects that use nature to adapt to climate change.

During my research I met my Spanish husband Marcos. He quickly took me to his birthplace Asturias in northern Spain. For me it was a great surprise to discover such a green piece of Spain, with a beautiful coast and high mountains at a very short distance from each other! In the following years, our desire grew to move to Asturias. After the birth of our first daughter Esther, in 2018 we took the step and embarked on the adventure.

About Mandy Bombeeck (Travel Logistics Expert)

My name is Mandy, and I’ve lived in Seville since 2019: the city I fell in love with. Since 2023, I’ve been running my own company, Sevilla by Mandy, here, helping travelers discover the city in a personalized way. My background is in tourism. In the Netherlands, I completed both my vocational (MBO) degree in Travel and Tourist Information and my higher professional (HBO) degree in Tourism Management. Traveling, organizing, and creating unique experiences are truly in my DNA.
In 2025, I met Debora through a network of Dutch female entrepreneurs that we are both part of. When I read her message that she was looking for someone to strengthen her team, I was immediately enthusiastic. Her personal approach and love for her region immediately appealed to me.
For intoAsturias, I manage the bookings in the reservation system and ensure that all travel documents are perfectly in order before the clients’ holidays begin. I believe it’s important that everything is perfect, so clients can look forward to their trip with peace of mind. As a true perfectionist, I get a great deal of satisfaction from that careful preparation. In addition, I really enjoy learning more and more about the beautiful north of Spain, in addition to my work in Seville.

About Travel Agency intoAsturias

We founded intoAsturias (officially registered as Travel Agency in Spain with the code CR.68.AS) in 2019, to help more international visitors enjoy Northern Spain and Asturias in particular. Over the years, we organized vacation packages and guided visits for hundreds of clients from all over the world. Sustainable travel, practically translated into eco-tourism experiences, selecting small-scale, locally owned accommodations, and hiring local, English-speaking guides, is our core value. Every year, we work with interns and local people, offering them the chance to gain experience in the tourism sector. Besides, Debora received the accreditation for official tourist guide of the Principado de Asturias in 2024 (GT.284.AS), so there’s a high chance that you’ll meet her as your guide during your visit to Northern Spain and Asturias!
