Hiking, eating and relaxing in an 18th century Spa (8 hours)

One of the ways the people from Oviedo (Ovetense) like to spend their free time, is to hike, cycle or skate along a so-called ‘Senda Verde‘ (Green Route). Then, they want to relax and have a tasty, big warm lunch. This tour gives you the opportunity to be a real Ovetense by walking a 10k Senda Verde, relaxing in an 18th century Spa and enjoying a typical Asturian ‘Menu del Dia’!

We start in Parque de Invierno in the south of Oviedo. The route follows an old railway line, of which we'll tell you more during our hike. The car-free road starts in the park but soon leads through the Asturian countryside with its cows and typical wooden 'Horreos'. We also walk through some tunnels underneath the mountains and cross Asturias' most important river, the Nalon.

During our hike we tell you more about the natural surroundings and history. With a bit of luck we'll spot some vultures!

After 10k, we arrive at the Spa. Here you have the option to spend 2.5 hours in its warm water and saunas. Note that the entrance to the Spa is not included in the price of this tour! The price differs per day, and to avoid that you pay more than the entrance fee of that specific day, you will pay for your visit yourself (between 14 and 25 euros p.p).

After this, we'll have a well-deserved Menu del Dia (three-course menu) in one of the village's restaurants. Then, we will together take the bus back to Oviedo.

The trip cost includes

  • Lunch 'Menu del Dia' (three courses including drinks)
  • 1 snack p.p.
  • 1 bottle of water p.p.
  • Bus ticket for our way back to Oviedo

The trip cost excludes

  • Cash/ debit/credit card to pay the entrance to the Spa (14 or 25 euro, depending on the season)
  • Additional snacks and drinks

Is this tour suitable for children?

The hike is suited for children who are used to walk for 10 kilometers in a row. Children older than 10 years are allowed in the Spa, but remember that it is not a swimming pool, so the general rules of the Spa (no running, diving, playing ball games, etc.) should be respected!

What do I need to bring?

Cash/ debit/credit card to pay the entrance to the Spa (14 or 25 euro, depending on the season); Comfortable clothing, walking or sport shoes; Rainclothing in case of bad weather; Swim clothes (obligatory in the Spa!), towel, flip flops; Bathrobe (optional); Sunscreen (both for the hike and the Spa), sun hat (optional); Drinks and snacks for the hike (optional)

Do I need to be trained to be able to participate in this tour?

This tour requires a basic condition and ability to walk for 10 kilometers in a row. The route is slightly descending and well-paved, so everyone with a basic condition should be able to participate.
